I almost spelled that out the first time!
The Pope and Hawking. I assume that neither of them communicated with Galileo, and that neither claimed complete understanding of whatever G-d communicated to them.
This is the same guy who thinks that aliens among us might not be such "mash-potatoey" fun, so why should I listen to him?
